Dr. Omaima Hatem holds a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh Business School, an MBA, MSc and BSc in Engineering from the American University in Cairo, Egypt (AUC). Dr. Hatem is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Dr. Hatem studied Leadership, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Harvard and MIT, USA. Dr. Hatem is the Chancellor of University of Hertfordshire hosted by Global Academic Foundation. Prior to taking up this role, Dr. Hatem served as a Professor of International Business, Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the University of Edinburgh Business School, UK, and as a Visiting Professor at the Center for Strategic Studies, School of Engineering, Cambridge University, UK.
Dr. Hatem has served as a consultant providing advice to senior management teams of international organizations in the areas of Engineering, Education, and Banking services. Dr. Hatem successfully helped the launch of Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, Business, and Physiotherapy in Egypt for University College London, King’s College, and the University of Hertfordshire. Dr. Hatem designed and implemented the largest training program for the Egyptian Ministry of Strategic Planning and Economic Development with King’s College London. Dr. Hatem designed and launched the first Professional MSc program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management between Cambridge University and Cairo University.
Prior to her academic career, Dr. Hatem established a diversified group of companies including several engineering, consulting, and international trading firms that covered more than 36 African, European, North and South American countries. She has collaborated with various multinationals in developing some of the world’s leading landmarks such as the Library of Alexandria - Egypt, Burj Khalifa- Dubai, Doha Airport- Qatar, Ground Zero Museum - USA, and the Oslo Opera House - Norway
