The University of Hertfordshire in Egypt, hosted by Global Academic Foundation, is the first full-fledged branch campus of a UK university in Egypt.
For the second time, Gemini Africa and UH-GAF are joining forces to present you with Rising Herts 2.0. This entrepreneurship programme not only equips students with essential business skills but also emphasise on their entrepreneurial spirit.
The kickoff is taking place in UH-GAF campus on 21st of November 2023. This day will provide an invaluable opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to gain inspiration and motivation. By attending talks and workshops conducted by successful entrepreneurs, students will learn about their journeys, challenges, and achievements, which can ignite their own entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, the event serves as a platform for networking and collaboration. Students can connect with like-minded peers, mentors, and industry professionals, fostering meaningful relationships that can lead to future partnerships and opportunities. Moreover, the entrepreneurship day exposes students to diverse business ideas and strategies, expanding their knowledge and understanding of various industries. Our first of its kind, entrepreneurial hub, Rising Herts has experienced a great success The programme surpassed all expectations, with an impressive turnout of enthusiastic students who not only actively participated but also greatly benefited from the valuable knowledge and practical skills imparted during the program. Rising Herts’s first edition brought a lot of inspiration as the programme hosted famous startups founders sharing their success stories with the students, including tackling the challenges and opportunities of the entrepreneurship scene. The guests included: Amr Kawashti & Ezz Tarek, Founders - In Your Shoe; Sherif Zaatar, General Manager - Breadfast; Layla Ghaleb, International Dance Choreographer & Co-Founder of Goodspace; Mohamed AbdElMottaleb, Founder and Managing Partner of Xpay and Tarek Fahmy, Business & Entrepreneurship Consultant.
Participating students in the Rising Herts program were then enrolled into focused intensive workshops and professional mentorship sessions. The workshops helped them in generating a startup idea, forming teams, working out the best business model appropriate for their project, diving deep into market research and getting acquainted with basic financials underpinning their startup.
