Professor Ashraf Abdel Baset worked as a Research Fellow in the Pediatric Nephrology Unit at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Yeshiva University in the United States of America, and as a Visiting Consultant in the Pediatric Nephrology Unit in Nottingham in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Abdel Basset also held many positions at Mansoura University, including the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Head of the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, Vice President of Mansoura University for Education and Student Affairs, and finally, President of Mansoura University.
Dr. Abdel Basset’s scientific research and literature includes: Pediatrics, Part III Fundamental Pediatrics, Autoimmune Diseases: Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment, Nanotechnology and Advances in Medicine, Fundamental Pediatric Part I, Fundamental Pediatrics. Part II, Lupus nephritis: Frontiers and Challenge.
Dr. Abdel Basset has also received many scientific awards, including: Prof. Yahya El-Gamal Award in Pediatrics from the Academy of Scientific Research – Egypt 2011, The Best Research Award (Poster) from the 14th Conference of the International Society of Pediatric Nephrology (Budapest-Hungary) 2007, Nomination as a representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt for the TWS International Award from the Academy of Scientific Research – Egypt 2006, Dr. Fakhry Mekkawy Award in Pediatrics from the Academy of Scientific Research – Egypt 2004, The ideal doctor for Dakahlia Governorate from the Egyptian Medical Syndicate 2001, University Incentive Award from Mansoura University 1999, Prize for Best Research Poster from the Fourth Egyptian-French Conference on Immunology and Molecular Biology on 1998.
